Prescriptions/
Medical Checks
Some patients will find that they have been given a short supply of medicines until they are able to come and have their BP/diabetic check/bloodtests/asthma check as required.

FLU JABs
we are taking bookings.

We expect that older housebound patients are given lifts to the surgery to have their jab.

Budgets
Patients are quite rightly getting more and more frustrated at not getting what they want, when they want it! Please be assured that we are your advocates and we act in your best interests. But we do have to prescribe cost-effectively, and refer for medical reasons when we can't manage your problem, not simply for your peace of mind. You will not find a GP practice these days which will oblige your every wish without discussion!

New Year Message?  maybe a time to reflect on what Christmas was all about 40yrs ago, when perhaps Britain was more of a Christian country, and perhaps morals, values and family/communities were knitted together, and supported each other through bigger crises than we're going through these days...Religious families tend to be more stable, supportive, happier, or at least more content with their lot, regardless of which faith they follow.

Despite initial reservations, our Sutton GP Consortium is one of the first to be approved by the government and we are proud to be one of the Sutton GP practices to be part of this organisation which will help us get the best services available locally! Special thanks to Dr Cockbain who has put much effort into this.

We have been a practice for nearly a hundred years. The surgery was run by the Chesser family, who only recently retired.0013898.gif We have around 7000 patients whom we feel we treat very well, especially in these recent recession years, which have also affected the NHS.

The Wilson Walk-in Health Centre. This has been running for a while now and as NHS patients you are entitled to use it as a Walk-in centre for your convenience. Some patients have told us that they have been strongly encouraged to register there so that they can get treatment. This is simply not true: you are entitled to use it as a drop-in centre.  It is run by a Private Company  who employ the doctors there, in a different way than the Health Authority governs local longstanding GPs. This is not so obvious from the website and it is only fair to point it out. They are marketing gymn membership to join: all local GPs can refer those in need to the local sports centres for significantly reduced membership. We would certainly recommend it as a convenient 8am-8pm 7day Walk-in Centre, which is what it is.

This website is intended to give good quality information and point our patients in the correct direction, so they can help themselves and be more informed. It is a sad fact that the American public know much more about medicine and their drugs than the British. We hope to change that!        we're averaging 10,000 monthly website visits, which is nearly twice as many patients as we have on our books!!!!
Please explore the site. You will also find out things about how we run the practice that will help you, and leave you more prepared for when you come to see the doctor or other health professional. Feedback is important to us.
The views expressed here are solely those of Dr Ditri and are not meant to cause any offence to any individual, though they are not intended to be politically correct, but to be honest and direct. The pages are being written as we speak, so do pop back and take another look later. We will try to keep this as up to date as we can, especially the rolling notice board on the left.
