Medicines all have side effects (SE).
Below are listed some of the more common medicines (drugs) that we prescribe. Leaflets
Bear in mind that compliance (that is, actually taking the medicines properly, regularly, as instructed and for long enough) is important. If you are not compliant, then you are at a disadvantage, because doctor will assume his treatment did not work, and may often prescribe a stronger medicine with more likelihood of more serious side-effects.

Quite rightly, some people get fed up with treatments tried by conventional medicine and their associated side effects. They turn to homeopathy and alternative therapies. The promise of treatments without side effects. Certainly SOME of these treatments by SOME practitioners work on SOME patients. But largely, these treaments are of unproven benefits when subjected to clinical trials on large numbers of patients. And practitioners are largely unregulated. So there ARE people who set themselves up with little experience. The advice is generally to seek the advice of your GP first, and explore ALL treatments before seeking alternative help. Certainly 'miracles' have been achieved, but also serious diagnoses missed occasionally, and lots of money spent.
